Slave to my Staffies

I have two rescue Staffies, Spikey who is now 5 and arrived at about 15 months has never shown a blind bit of interest in the TV. It doesn't matter if it is dogs barking, kids screaming or whatever he's never been remotely interested.
18 months ago we adopted Lily at the tender age of 14 weeks. From the outset she was always interested in the TV and always watched it with intent, we thought this was a puppy thing and she would grow out of it. 18 months later she is still fascinated by the TV, last night I went back in to the room they were in and she was watching "You've been framed" with the animals and she was sat in front of the TV barking and getting really excited. When she barks Spikey gets up and goes to the window to see whose there because he's not that bright  and off they both go trying to find the mystery dog. Lily will try and get to the back of the TV to find the child/animal or whatever it is she's seen or heard.

So the question is does your dog respond to the TV and if so to what types of programs????????

My Harvey when he arrived used to sing the theme tunes to soaps, casualty and a few other random programmes. Sadly or thankfully as he gets older he doesn't do it much now. He doesn't watch telly, but when he hears the theme tune he walks right up to the telly to sing to it. He is actually very good at it! If I put the theme tune on my laptop he still walks to the telly to sing!

I once rehomed a jack russell who used to sit in front of coronation street from beginning to end. Her owners had to put a stool in front of the telly so that she was eye level for it :petdog:

Mab loves tv - doesn't he Kass.

He sat and watched the 'Africa' documentary last night and loves anything with animals in.

Rhomi used to watch tv for hours. For some reason she watched a good hour of the boy in the striped pyjamas before getting bored and going to sleep. Her favourite film was 8 below and would watch it from start to finish. As a pup her favourite programme was monkey world. She would fetch her big mwnci, curl up with her chin on him and watch the monkeys as soon as she heard the theme tune.

Black Seth used to love telly. Especially one man and his dog so we made a special trip to see a competition with him while on holiday in Cornwall and he wasn't at all interested. He loved it on telly though  If we were in the garden and I asked hime what was on the telly he'd rush in and look

I love the idea of Harvey singing. Not sure I'd like the reality quite so much

Poppy the lazy loves watching anything but her favourite seems to be romantic films. Holly Sprolie - football, tennis, rugby, cricket. Bit of a theme going on there

Leia used to sing but otherwise never had a dog take any notice until now, Buzz loves it, he likes the obvious, birds or most wildlife but he particularly likes certain nosies, sirens etc

Rosie will glance at the tv for a couple of seconds then look away. Lily used to love horses on the tv, she would happily have watched horse racing all day long! She also loved the bit on the teletubbies where cartoon animals walked along two by two - she would go round the back of the tv to see where they had gone.

Lucy goes bonkers if she hears whistling on the TV, particularly dog whistles, but she gets so excited that can't work out where the noise is coming from. :Nilly:

Penny ignores the tv. Lara often watches, but it's not always clear what has caught her attention, usually it's wildlife.
