Not sure where to go next with this one so if anyone has any ideas Lily always is a dribbler out on walks, dribble here, dribble there all the time, nearly as bad as the boys. But before Xmas I noticed her licking at herself a bit more and the boys here were sniffing at her a lot so took urine sample into the vets, all clear. 4 days later on a walk I noticed her squatting a few times but nothing coming out so took her into the vets, said she probably had infection so gave her antibiotics, I did notice over the next couple of days her urine was slightly blood tinged but that cleared as she took the tablets. After xmas she was still going to the loo a lot but all coming out ok but boys still sniffing so took in another urine sample which was clear and got full bloods done, all clear. Soooooo boys are still sniffing at her, ive bathed her and tidied up round her 'parts' but what to check next Oh and last night Murphy was humping one of the beds Lily had been lying in which is something he hasnt done in a longgggggggggggggggggggggg time Different dog but same sort of situation, Kyla in the past year has been treated for vaginitis/UTI as the boys were forever sniffing/licking at her, again shes had urine samples checked and has bloods done every 3 months but all clear and the boys still to this day are glued to her rear end at times so ive wondered if shes just leaking a bit she also grooms herself quite a lot. |

I would go for referral, something is not quite right, specially if the boys are that interested. Are you sure its weeing, and not coming from the vagina? Just thinking it could be something there, as the boys are so interested and want to lick and then hump the bed! lol Worrying though , hope she soon clears up , whatever it is! |

I'd definitely ask for more tests. Doesn't sound right at all. |

It could be mild incontinence that she is cleaning up herself. I would take her back to the vets. There aren't many if any tests they can do for this - they tend to prescribe Propalin/Incurin first and then see if it helps the situation. Sasha has always been a marker on walks and it's unrelated to her incontinence. In any case, something isn't right so take her back. |

Have you changed their food at all? Archie is always terribly interested in Megan's rear end if she's eaten anything other than Naturediet - especially if she has Wainwright's, for some reason. |

I'd be asking for further investigation (e.g. ultrasound) or a referral. Saffi had a UTI that started in about July, and we didn't finally get it sorted out until November. It took two lots of Noroclav ABs, the scan which showed nothing and more urine tests which showed nothing, and then two rounds of metranidozole to beat it. It also caused colitis - I think mostly that was down to the noroclav but she started to get uncomfortable about pooing as well as weeing (and trying to wee lots with no success) before she went on the second lot. The metranidozole was for the colitis but she finally stopped her UTI symptoms (including being bothered by male dogs) after she had it. I'm pretty sure that they (and we) can have infections without a positive test result - I remember going in for one myself once, the test was clear but so were my symptoms and ABs cleared it up. |

Very difficult to say where the problem is coming from, but she definitely was originally squatting and nothing coming out and blood tinged so assumed it was pee but I suppose it could be from the vagina. I did mention Propalin to my vets for Kyla but they said not unless she was leaking a lot. Food has been changed but that was after all this started. The first urine sample was clear but there was definitely a problem though im loathe to put her on antibiotics willy nilly when we do not know for sure what the problem is. Brought Lily back in from her walk this afternoon and the boys were sniffing round her and yesterday my friends dog who seldom meets Lily straight away was sniffing her rear end. Think I will have a chat with my vets again next week about Lily and Kyla. Thanks all |
