Just wanted to update about the miracle we've had!! At least that is how I feel about it :wag:

Some of you know already and have shared my happiness and relief, but for those who haven't heard yet, BANYA DOES NOT HAVE CANCER :goodjob:

Long story, but basically the very experienced Ultrasound vet thought she had spleen and liver cancer (haemangiosarcoma) last time, but now on comparing that scan and the one we did yesterday, he was able to measure them and the lesions have not got bigger and he now considers them to be non malignant!!

I could not believe it, it really did take 24 hours to sink in. Having lived through the nightmare that is the dread and anxiety of cancer, to then be told she is in fact ok, is such a relief I cannot begin to tell you!

The lesions are likely old dog lesions. The one on her spleen is just nudging the spleen capsule, (and it was very interesting seeing this on the scan picture, the capsule showed as a white line with a tiny bump where the lesion is nudging it a tiny bit) but not likely to break it. He said very rarely they can still burst, but they tend to be much bigger than this one.

We have another scan to check in 8 months or so. She did of course have a different, lethargic behaviour before which is why we did all these tests and she's not quite right, but the vet did suggest that sometimes these lesions can send out chemicals which might affect a dog in some way.

Anyway - I hope you will indulge me as I post some recent piccies of our little miracle

And thank you for all your kind support and messages regarding all of this. It's made a difference I can assure you :arms:

I honestly still can't quite believe she is "all clear" and the lesions are not malignant, after thinking for so long that they were after the last Ultrasound, but I feel so happy that we have more time with our Banya

Yes, I don't often post piccies but now I have got the hang of it more, and because it is a special occasion, I thought I'd overload a bit and hope no-one minded~! :rundog:

Thank you Kaye, :D we are so happy about the news and it seems as if every day with Banya is now a wonderful bonus!

Although it turns out that she didn't have cancer after all, we went through everything in our emotions as if she did, because of course we thought she did have it! The vet even said he suspected haemangiosarcoma and so on, so we had no reason to think more positively... well, until now! :goodjob: :wag:
