Yes, its that age old thread again

Just bought Bramble a new tag having lost her other one on her walk - (if someone finds it, they may post it back lol) so after a quick trip to PAH <yes i know!> and a buying of a tag so she can go out over the weekend, I'm looking for a better tag (the PAH one is a bit expensive for what it is, but i did get everything i wanted on it)

Soooo

Gimme some links to nice girly tags that i can get enough engraved on (basic details plus "chippedn & spayed" )

I like This one but dont know if its any good, some of the feedback is naff, but most is good

Have you looked at identitag? I always use their tags and have only needed to change them when when my details have changed. :)

I like Identitag too, and their split rings are very good quality so there is little chance of losing the tags :)

Another vote for identitag. The only time one has been lost was when Mabon lost the collar it was attached to. :rundog:

I also like the indigo tags that fit flat to the collar.

Also a fan of Identitag but Patience lost hers a few weeks ago when the metal by the hole for the split ring wore through.

Do they do nice girly ones? or should i stick to a normal brass type one so i can have "spayed & chipped" on it too (or should i not bother with that now?)

I have indigo collar tags for mine, they fasten onto the collar and are shaped to fit their necks, not pretty or really cheap but surgical grade steel and very good quality. I have 2 on each collar, with their name, house no, my work mob no and chipped and spayed or neutered as I have one of each, on other tag is my postcode with house no in brackets, my mob no, hubs mob no and insured and loved. On their harness there is another tag that has postcode and house no again. My home no, work mob no and their name so if they lost collar hopefully harness has some details. Bit overkill I know but they're ex strays from the pound so if they got lost ever I want to make sure I get them back! My paranoia stretches to their microchips too, I have all above phone now plus vets no plus all my sis's no's too, just in case!:)

Identitag here too. The split rings aren't foolproof though, not if you clip the lead onto the ring instead of the collar  Casper and his long fur have caught us out a few times with that one! Kiki did lose her last one, too, but the new one has lasted several years. The tags themselves last absolutely ages with minimal wear and tear.

Identitag here too, we have the plastic tags which are great though one is going to need replacing as the plastic between the top of the tag and the hole for the ring is wearing thin so will probably fall off soon.

I'm going to guess that the problem is more likely to be the attachment to the collar than the tag per se?

I never, ever use the split rings that come with my tags - I buy packets of keyrings designed for kids' party bags, they have 1" thick, strong split rings on them and I just take the fob off and use that ring for the tags. Since I've been doing that I've never lost a tag, no matter how cheap (and I spend about £1-ish per tag on ebay, proper cheapycheap) :)

I would suggest if getting a plastic one from identitag, then get white because it has black writing. The coloured ones have white writing and it gets covered in mud and hard to read
